USING & UNDERSTANDING YOUR EBIKE
-
What class are Wildsyde eBikes?
Wildsyde eBikes are Class 2, meaning they are equipped with a throttle that can assist up to 20mph without pedaling. There are three common classes of eBikes:
Class 1: 750W or less, pedal-assist only, no throttle, and a maximum speed of 20mph.
Class 2: 750W or less, pedal-assist with throttle-assist up to 20mph.
Class 3: 750W or less, pedal-assist only, up to 28mph, with no throttle.
Class 2 eBikes offer a great balance of power and control, making them ideal for casual rides, commuting, and recreational use.
Do your eBikes have a throttle?
Yes! All models feature a right-hand thumb throttle for effortless cruising.
Press the throttle forward with your thumb to engage the motor and control your speed. The throttle allows you to ride without pedaling up to the predetermined speed of the pedal assist level.
How fast do the bikes go?
All Wildsyde eBikes are governed to 20 mph to comply with Class 2 regulations.
Can I increase the max speed of my eBike?
Wildsyde does not recommend modifying the maximum speed beyond the Class 2 limit of 20 MPH. Altering speed settings may compromise safety, reduce battery efficiency, and void your warranty.
Can I charge my phone from the bike?
Yes. Each bike includes a USB port near the display or control button for on-the-go charging.
-
How far can I go on a single charge?
Typical range is 35–50 miles, depending on terrain, assist level, rider weight, and throttle usage. For the longest range, we recommend a moderate pedal-assist setting and consistent riding pace.
How long does it take to charge the battery?
A full charge on a Wildsyde eBike battery takes approximately 8 hours. However, you can recharge the battery at any time—charging duration will vary depending on how much the battery has been depleted. There’s no need to wait until it’s fully drained.
Can I use any eBike charger?
No. Only use the Wildsyde charger included with your bike to avoid damaging the battery or voiding the warranty.
What does Wh stand for?
"Wh" stands for watt-hours, a unit that measures the total amount of energy a battery can store and deliver. It’s calculated by multiplying voltage (V) by amp-hours (Ah). For example, a 48V 20Ah battery equals 960Wh.
In simple terms, the higher the Wh, the longer your eBike can run on a single charge—though actual range depends on factors like rider weight, terrain, speed, and assist level.
What voltage is my bike?
All Wildsyde bikes use a 48V, 20Ah battery.

Can I tow a trailer with my eBike?
Yes, as long as the combined weight of rider, trailer, and gear does not exceed 300 lbs. (We do not currently offer trailer accessories.)
Can I transport the bike using my existing rack?
We recommend using only bike racks that are specifically rated for eBikes. Standard racks may not be built to support the added weight and size of an electric bike, which could lead to damage or unsafe transport. Always check the weight capacity and compatibility of your rack before use.
Can I lift the bike into my vehicle?
With weights between 54–79 lbs, we recommend using an eBike rack with a loading ramp, available on our website.
