Im shocked about how many people love the look of this bike. I named my bike " McQueen" because in O.D. it looks like the machines Steve road in the movie "The Great Escape" . Very cool look with the canvas saddle bags. Add a small backpack, and you can carry a $100. of stuff home from the grocers. But do not think you can ride this thing without assist. Too heavy. In an emergency, there are creep along low gears, but no fun.
Great hydraulic disc brakes. Really. The front end has a little give with those cool chrome springs, and the seat post has a spring. Gears shift easily, remember your only using the top 2. Leather grips on the handle bar are mega cool. And a soda in the leather holder on the bar, nice.
Now if I'm going out for a 3 or 4 or 10 hour ride from Steamboat to Vail, I'm doing it on my double suspended Boulder Bike with Campy gears, but if I'm in the neighborhood rid'n to the pool, going to the store, or having fun with kids in a parade, I'm riding McQueen.
Last note, keep tabs on stuff getting loose. Things tend to get loose on this thing. Keep your tube of green lock-tite close by.
